Explore Ayurveda: The holistic science from India

Ayurveda is a traditional Indian medical system that has been practiced for thousands of years. It is based on the belief that the body and mind are intimately connected and that a person’s health depends on the balance between these two aspects.

Where was it originated

It was developed by ancient sages who were experts in their fields, such as Yoga, astrology, Vedic mathematics in ancient India.

It is based on the belief that the body has the ability to heal itself with the help of nature’s remedies.

What is the real meaning of Ayurveda

The word Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit words, ‘ayu’ meaning life, and ‘veda’ meaning knowledge. According to Ayurveda, disease is the result of an imbalance in one’s body, mind and emotions. This imbalance can be caused by many factors, such as diet and lifestyles choices.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. (According to WHO)

A healthy person should be able to do all the activities they want to do. They should feel good about themselves. They should have a positive outlook on life. And they should be able to make healthy choices for themselves and their family.

How does Ayurveda work

Ayurveda believes 5 fundamental factors Pancamahabhutas (space, air, fire, water and earth) happen withinside the human body as 3 fundamental humours/energies referred to as tridosas (Vata,Pitta and Kapha). These 3 govern creation, renovation and destruction of physical tissues in addition to the assimilation and elimination.
